Scrappy Mini Quilt Tutorial Pattern

The scrappy mini is a fun a quick scrap busting make that is all levels friendly.   Perfect as a set of two, these handmade, no binding mini quilts are just so fun to make, and perfect for a quick and charming little handmade gift. Some of my favorite uses for these little quilts have been as a mug rugs (large coasters), mini placemats, table trivets, hot pads (use Insulbrite batting for use with super hot items), quilt art, etc.

This very detailed and beginner friendly tutorial comes with instructions for 2 different versions of a 9” scrappy mini. Although I demonstrate here with a scrappy strip block, you could easily use this same technique and modify it to work with a variety of quilt blocks. So if you’re not up for the improv part, simply use your favorite block and follow the assembly instructions. Method 1 is the hand quilted version that will require a bit more time and effort, and method 2 is the machine quilted version that comes together very quickly and easily. Both are incredibly fun and full of options to make it your own unique gift.
