The Brightwood Quilt Pattern- Coming Soon

Does summer mean more time to quilt for you or less?  For me, summer offers a bit more freedom... the kiddos are home from school, they sleep in, while I work on my latest quilt project.  This is also the first year that I have two extra drivers in the family, so they don't rely on me for every trip to the beach or a friend's house, which honestly is both a little sad and very liberating at the same time.  This summer my big project has been working on my latest quilt pattern!  I can't wait to share it with you all.

The Brightwood Quilt pattern is currently with testers and they are creating some beautiful samples to share with you all.  We can't wait to show you all the possibilities this pattern offers.  To start with, there are two block sizes- Jumbo or Mini! You can also choose to make your quilt Modern, where all the blocks are identical, or Scrappy, where all the blocks are different and highlight a variety of prints or colors. Fun right?

The quilt below (currently waiting for binding), is the throw size Modern version with the Jumbo blocks!  This one uses all Art Gallery prints and the kit will be available over at The Grey Finch Company.

The Brightwood Quilt Pattern - Let's break it down

This quilt pattern is so loaded with options that it almost requires a warning label my friends, but don't let that scare you away!  With 8 size options and loads of ways to vary the design, this pattern could keep you busy for many summers, or season of choice, to come.

Check out the samples below and read on for more details.

Mini blocks or jumbo, scrappy or modern, borders or no borders, small, medium or large size... just some of the options available with this quilt pattern.  Not to worry though,  it is all laid out and explained in a very easy to understand format that makes creating your dream quilt, a snap!  I recommend brewing up a cup of your favorite beverage and settling in to read over the pattern thoroughly before beginning.  This will help you really understand that pattern and realize that it's not nearly as daunting as it may appear upon first glance, and it will also help you decide what version you'll be creating.

For example, check out the no border/border samples below!  Either could be created using the mini blocks or the jumbo blocks. If you're interested in seeing more samples, I encourage you to head over to Instagram where you can follow the hashtag #brightwoodquilt.   Not only will you see lots of versions, but you'll also be able to check out all the process posts and news about available kits as well as release dates and tutorials.

Moving on...the scrappy version is super fun in any size and just might take a bit more pre planning and be best suited for the very confident beginner or the more experienced quilter. This one uses fat quarters or your favorite stash.  As with all the versions, you can add optional borders if you like.

Did I mention there are 8 size options?

Shown above are the baby size quilt and the one block version which by the way, is great as a pillow, a tote bag, a wall hanging, etc.  Or how about the mini block baby mat size used to instead make a lovely table runner. Also shown is the twin size, with and without borders, solids vs. prints. One thing I know for certain, is that no matter what quilt you decide to make, it's going to be gorgeous and you're going to love it!  I'm telling you the sky is the limit with what you can do with this pattern. It will definitely help hone your decision making skills:-).

I'm so excited to get it finished up and out to you all around the the first week of August!  If you haven't already, I invite you to sign up for my newsletter where I'll share a heads up on all the quilt pattern festivities, kits and sales.
