The color palette in my latest Framework Quilt just makes me happy! It feels natural- like a fresh breath of deep ocean/mountain air, it's calming to my soul! I couldn't be more thrilled with the way this one turned out.
I created this design and accompanying pattern last year and ended up created a total of 5 so far. Pretty sure I say this about all of them when I'm finished, but this one really IS my favorite- I think! ;-)
These fabrics were all taken from my stash and are some of my all time favorites! I mean who doesn't love blue and green?
Over on my Instagram account, I have several videos that show the process of making these blocks and others like it. I share process tips on how to create your own Framework Quilt blocks! It's such a fun way to use up scraps or your favorite fat quarters. I invite you to head on over and have a look!
When I finished piecing this quilt, I just knew I needed to hand quilt it. I was so inspired by Annette (@thequiltinglife), one of my testers, and the beautiful hand quilting on her Framework Quilt, I simply had to give it a go! I'm so glad I did.
I decided on a variety of colors of Aurifil #12 weight for the entire quilt.
It was a dream to work with and the process got me through the whole holiday season with my sanity mostly intact.
To finish this one off I chose to finally give big stitch binding a try.
I think this might be my new go to way to finish every quilt!! It's easy, fast and I love how it looks!
I am just so smitten with everything about this quilt. Thanks for reading my post about it. I hope you enjoyed.
