Hi Friends! I was so thrilled to re- discover this happy little quilt that I finished in February of 2020, my last pre covid make. Maybe that's why I find her such a happy, oblivious, little quilt... or maybe it's just the super fun and vibrant colors!
This was the prototype for my Connection Quilt Pattern and I ended up making several more with this design.
It's so great for using up my scraps, which for me is one of the most satisfying things I do in my studio! You too?
I didn't give it a whole lot of thought, just starting pulling all the pretty colors of longish solids scraps I could find.
This quilt was super fun to make. When I finished her up, we took her along on a wintry mountain getaway and got some fun photos.
Not long after that COVID hit, and this little beauty got packed away for safe keeping.
What a joy to randomly discover her in a place that I don't usually store quilts (umm, not sure how that happened) and also to realize that I hadn't given her a proper wash and dry yet. That is usually one of my favorite steps in completing a quilt... it's just so fun to see and feel that quilty crinkle.
Well needless to say, she's all prettied up and ready to find her forever home. I couldn't resist getting some final photos of her after my daughter's recent birthday party. This quilt just has a happy vibe..... like birthday confetti!
This Connection Quilt is 48" and was machine pieced and quilted by me on my home machine using 100% cotton fabrics and batting. Both the finished quilt and the pattern can be found in my shop!
